What's happening

The story of a car and a teenager's dream ...

I grew up in a loving family thankfully, and I have one brother older than me by four and a half years. Dear bro (Xavier), as far back as I can remember, has always been mad about cars and car racing ... And still is today ... So I gently blame him for my car story. Put it that way: I've always wanted a nice car!!!

At 18, I got my first car, a Renault Super 5 colour of the sand of the Sahara desert (beige...), paid with my own savings. Being a "lively, keen to explore" young adult, that car ran through some trouble that she never asked for. I used to carry a screwdriver in my handbag in case I had (once again) locked the door with the key inside. It served me well until after I started my first job ... I used to have to drive 30km back and forth 5 days a week and poor "Titine Super 5" gave in ... My Dad (always the saviour) said he'll lend me the money to get a replacement, 2nd hand of course; so off we went to local Peugeot garage and got myself a gorgeous (at the time) red 106. Let me tell you I fell like a million dollars at the time... Full time job (preparing and setting up cold buffets), young, great bunch of friends, family supporting me and a brand new steering wheel under my hands! Paid back my Dad month by month as agreed, till I got the opportunity to work in Epcot Center/Disney, Orlando/Florida on a 12 months contract ...

Visa-check, vaccins-check, passport-check... Dropped everything and went! Yeah... but what would I drive when I get there? I won't lie, the money was fantastic... Bought a car with Tania (who has become a dear friend) in the 1st couple of weeks we were there... A bright blue Ford Probe. One of them cars that looks sporty and the eyes (=head lights) pop up when you put the key in the ignition. Absolutely fab! The 106 had stayed in France and my Dad actually crashed it a month after I left... tssss (Nobody hurt but little red 106 was damaged beyond repair)

Back to France 15 month later, then Ireland a month later =^.^= Going around on public transport for about a year, nearly losing it ... until boyfriend at the time let me use his car, a mazda whatever, didn't like it ..  On the career side, I kept on moving up the ladder until becoming restaurant manager ...and that's when I got the Golf, loved it! The dashboard was lighting blue and red, funky!

One sunny morning, my bro emailed me the video of the last Peugeot that was to come out shortly..(I had been dreaming of the Opel Tigra till then) ... Tadam!! 206 cc ...Oh my!!! It looked like a dream come true ... The minute I saw the video I thought: someday I'm going to have one ...

Shortly after that, as I was visiting friends and family in France, Xavier asked me if I would go to the zoo with them to spend the afternoon . Cool, why not ...
Would you believe ;-o parked on the grass (illegally) before the entrance of the zoo...*Drum rolls* ... THE ONE!!! a convertible silver 206 cc !!! Xavier spotted it 1st: "Don't look left you're going to be sick...It's the new Peugeot I told you about" AAAAAAhhhhh!!!! Fell in love ... Looked at it right, left, up, down and centre... Am defo going to get one of them!! But in dark blue ... much nicer ;-) I couldn't afford it at the time, especially since I wanted it brand new ;-o but was determined to work towards it...
Guess what ... in August 2005 I went in Peugeot garage in Finglas... As it turned out, there was only 2 of them in the country, one of them was the China blue I was after but it had leather seats (didn't ask for them but hey!) If I wanted normal it would take 6 months... When that one I could get within the week. Deal!!! Couldn't the grin off my face for weeks ... ;-)

I wouldn't trade it for anything!!! (Well...wait and see ..) 2 years after that the BMW Z3 came out ... *New car dream*

If you've been following what Kenny and I are up through Twitter and Facebook, you'll already know that Kenny has launched the catering side of the business last week:
Kenny's Kitchen   So we're in need of a van ... *sigh* ... And most likely I'll be trading my now 7 year old gorgeous and happy companion 206 cc for a van for the business ...

Surely we can have a 2 cars and a van at some stage... mine could be the week end one?

Sniff ...

Have a Lovely Week !!!
